Mark has started spending more time in Tokyo for work over the last little while, so the cherry blossom season seemed a good opportunity for a long weekend away.
We visited the very famous Meiji Shrine – following the footsteps of the new Secretary of State.
We purified our extremities of all naughtiness, which sadly failed to have the desired effect on the kids.
We offered up gifts to the Shinto gods, making a last minute plea for our desired birthday presents…
and we were lucky enough to witness a Japanese wedding…
before seeing more Japanese women in traditional dress and wondering what they carrier in the back of their kimonos
And we looked at these very cool Sake barrels (signs in Japanese, contents and history not entirely clear).
We traveled down to Kita Kamakura for the day to take in the temples, eat some udon, take photo’s of very wise looking Japanese men and to try and make Hugo walk.
The dates co-incided with Oscar’s birthday and the nomination period for Asia father of the Year awards, so the call of Disneyland for a birthday celebration was too much to bear…
We met characters…
Drove racing cars….
threw up on that stupid tea cup ride…
and then on the horses.
maisie found a new mum and dad
and then was told by Snow White to only eat the green apples, not the red ones.
and so it happened that we now have the most spoilt children in history….
anyway, in the evenings, Mum and Dad either shopped….

or ate their way through their life savings… (not my pics)
Most excellent holiday. very lost in translation.
hey guys, fantastic to see a plethora of updates on the blog, curious where they all were before you uploaded them though? Fab pictures!

When can you fit in some work.
Wonderful trips, wonderful photographs and lots of well deserved news for family members.
I travelled to Roselands shopping centre last week. Sadly no photos.
Seriously great that you are back. Keep up the good work.
