Raising expectations…

It has been polite of people to refrain from commenting,  but I am sure that you noticed the deterioration in the quality of our photos over the past 12 months.

There have been multiple issues, the leading contender is a failing lens, which after 10 years of travel had an expectation of a cushy retirement. The photographer’s jet lag and sheer absence of talent have no doubt also played a part, but always better to blame the equipment.

The poor quality must have been causing serious viewer distress: last birthday a consortium of family members were generous enough to not only fund an upgrade of hardware, but have also enrolled the photographer in an intermediate course with a highly regarded local outfit.

These are taken with our new super duper sigma lens. Better colours, crisper focus.  Loving it. The name of the site is going to be changed to allthegearbutnoidea.com

And some close ups of the garden flora – leveraging our new understanding of macro functions from our course.  There is no stopping us now.
