It was Labour day in Singapore last week. We joined in the National Solidarity Party wishing “all Singapore workers peace and hope“…. but we did it by taking off for the weekend with our friends the Woodburns and giving them some space… ![]()
Nikoi is a 15 hectare island 8km off the east coast of Bintan, Indonesia, about 85km from Singapore. You might remember Bintan from our last escapade. Nikoi is gorgeous. Still pretty unspoiled, it has only recently been developed by a group of Singapore expats and they have done a great job leaving most of it untouched.
Great 4 days. The family is tanned and rested. James Woodburn has taken up a new job as a tree-house builder.

A rare photo of the little guy – his first acquatic experience.
Maisie takes to the air…
and Oscar takes up scuba.
I am green with envy. What wonderful experiences the children are having.
Oscar is very brave and I love the way Maisie points her toes when she dives.
The Island looks magniicent. I don’t think Hugo could get a tan with all that swimming gear.
How does one come back relaxed after a weekend with 3 children. Loved the video, very comprehensive.
Love to all the Britts Abroad
